oldmanAs medical care advances and treatments increase, health care costs also increase. The purpose of health insurance is to help pay for care. It protects self and family from financial burden in the event of an unexpected serious illness or injury that could turn out to be very expensive. In addition, routine and preventive care is covered in most of the health insurance policies.

Health insurance is important because predicting the medical bills is not in our hands. Sometimes, medical bills are moderate dealing with usual health issues, but at times things get worse. Predicting health issues and graveness of the medical condition is not possible. Health insurance helps in high medical bills and gives peace of mind and satisfaction of protection from financial burden during critical health issues. Buying Health Insurance must be a top priority and should not be left until a serious illness to self or a family member.

Trauma is one such perilous health condition that requires a separate insurance, because the general health insurance policies do not cover the diagnosis support in case of a severe trauma conditions, that trauma insurance provides. Having a trauma insurance is much beneficial in conditions of traumatic illnesses occurred due to accidents and/or other severe conditions like Blindness, Loss of speech, limbs, Cancer, Heart attack, Burns, Deafness, Alzheimer, Parkinson, Stroke, Heart valve surgery and more.

Research shows that people with health and trauma insurance are more likely to have a regular doctor and get care when they need it.

People can get health insurance through government programs that operate at the national, State, and local levels or through private insurance providers who provide different types of health insurance based on different categories and levels.

The different types of Medical Insurance policies available worldwide are:

1. Group Health Insurance:

Most people get health insurance through their employers or organizations to which they belong. Alternatively,  being a member of a union, professional association, or other group, may provide group coverage through that organization. Some employers allow employees to choose between several plans, including both indemnity insurance and managed care. Other employers offer only one plan. Some group plans offer dental and/or vision benefits as well as medical benefits. Therefore, it is important to compare plans to find the one that offers the most needed benefits. When group health insurance is an employee benefit,  the employer usually pays a portion or all of the premiums. This means  costs for health insurance premiums will be lower than they would be if the entire premium is paid alone. Trauma insurance is generally not provided by the Group and Employee insurance schemes.

2. Individual Health Insurance:

Some people do not have access to group insurance. They may choose to purchase their own individual health insurance or Trauma Insurance directly from an insurance company. The person is entirely responsible for paying the policy premiums amount himself, rather than sharing the cost with an employer. Look around to find a plan that fits medical needs at an affordable price. Most self-employed workers are able to deduct their insurance premiums from their taxable income, providing them with an important tax saving. Most of the countries worldwide offer such tax deduction preferences. For self-employment, consult a tax advisor to find about the eligibility of the tax deduction

Insurance plans differ greatly from one company to another and, within an insurance company, from one plan or product to another. Some plans have multiple products (options) from which you can choose.

Indemnity Insurance:

This is another and indifferent category of Insurance policy selection. This type of coverage offers more flexibility in choosing doctors and hospitals. It gives freedom of choosing any doctor, at any time. Although a recommendation to see a specialist or  x-ray diagnosis or tests is not needed,  but the doctor may ask for paperwork, such as medical records, from  primary physician or doctor.

Whether eligible for group insurance or  an individual plan, and if  opting for an Indemnity Insurance, compare cautiously all related costs and coverage, before opting for an insurance plan.
