When you’re careful with how you spend your money, it may seem frivolous to spend money on holidays, but although going on holiday is a luxury, it’s also something that can give you (and whoever goes with you) a real boost. So, if you can go away at an affordable price, you should try to fit in an overseas trip every now and then.

Fortunately with so many budget airlines offering cheap flights around Europe, this is something that is now easy to achieve. There are often really great sales on between the different airlines, and if you’re not particularly fixed on a destination, then there’s always a great choice of places to go to.

For example, at any time of the year you can find cheap flights to Amsterdam, Paris, Barcelona or Rome, as well as many other European cities. Going to another city for a few days or over the weekend is a great way to have a break from the norm, and experience a different culture. You’ll return home refreshed and renewed with enthusiasm for work.

Of course, budget airlines fly to other destinations apart from major European cities. You could easily book a beach break using the cheaper airlines and arrange your own accommodation through holiday lets websites. There’s such a huge choice of self-catering accommodation that you can book your flights first and then find the accommodation to suit afterwards. Many places will be flexible on changeover days, except for in the height of the summer season.

The kinds of beach locations that are easy to get to on cheap flights include Majorca and Ibiza, Corsica and Sardinia. You can also always find bargain deals to Alicante, Malaga, and the Canary Islands.

Just because you’re on a budget doesn’t mean you have to stay at home for the next decade! Sign up to all the budget airlines’ email facilities so that you never miss out on hearing about great offers.
