Brilliant Money Saving Ideas For Couples

Young love is one of the most beautiful things about life on earth, but it can have its stumbling blocks, especially when it comes to financial arrangements. In nearly all cases, one member of the couple will earn a higher wage, meaning they end up paying considerably more towards monthly bills and other costs. This is fine for a while, but often becomes an issue when the other partner is less driven and less inclined to find themselves a better wage. Still, the UK job market is pretty dire at the moment, so most of them will be forgiven.

That doesn’t mean you should leave things there though. If you can’t contribute as much towards the household bills, then you could at least start working out ways in which money can be saved, right? That won’t cost you a penny and could well ease the strain for your partner, resulting in them being far more impressed with your contribution. So, if you’re interested in reading about some basic ideas, take a moment to scan through the rest of this post, and I’ll do my best to explain it in the simplest manner possible.

Share Everything!

Although it can be a little daunting to give up your personal identity completely, if you’re struggling financially, this might be the best solution (for the time being anyway). Instead of simply combining your bank accounts, you could also make sure you both eat the same meals, drink the same drinks and go out to the same places. This is certain to save you lots of money without either of you losing out on a social life or decent food.

Only Buy What You Can Afford

It seems like I get letters from credit card companies on a daily basis begging me to take money off their hands, and I expect most of the people reading this have the same experience. Even so, you should never have credit cards or put yourself in any other form of debt without a damn good reason. You might think you’re going to pay off the balance before any interest is added, but in most cases this doesn’t happen and so you effectively end up paying considerably more for the items you purchased. It would be much more sensible to start saving and wait a couple of months.

Look For The Best Deals And Offers

A few month ago, myself and my partner decided to spend a month only buying items that were on offer at SumoCoupon.com, and you would not believe how much cash we saved. The great thing about this website is it covers a huge range of retailers from all over the country, so don’t worry about having your options limited – they really won’t be. In the space of 30 days, we managed to save around £200 on £800 worth of purchases. Now you have to admit that sounds appealing, right?

Anyway guys, with that I must take my leave. Christmas is only a week away, and I’ve got so much wrapping to do that I’m worried I’ll never get it finished. Remember to implement all the ideas I’ve just relayed, and you should start to notice a big difference in less than a week.

Happy holidays!
