imagescandelsThe country’s romance with candle is real, and it can be an opportunity for any organization willing to invest for a fundraising venture. Although it may seem to be easy money, there is hard work involved and it needs a dedicated team in order to work. Understanding some tips can help for a successful candle fundraising campaign:

  1. Use Brochures

Candles fundraising can be hard to do door-to-door. It can be hard even with a stand or kiosk in a supermarket. The reason for this is that people would normally buy only what they can carry. On the other hand, if people can have candles delivered to their home, they might be persuaded to buy more candles. Volume sales in this manner is good for the organization, because it means that they do not need to sell only one or two candles per customer.  They can have a whole box of candles sold to each customer. Brochure selling is one successful technique for volume sales of candles. One other distinct advantage of brochure selling is that customers can choose the candles without seeing the whole product line. The brochures would contain pictures and product descriptions. Your organization does not need to bring candles while they go door-to-door. This would make the task so much easier.

  1. Choose the Right Candle Fundraising Company

When you choose a candle fundraising company, you are in effect choosing a partner. As a partner, you are selling their products at a premium. They gain from the campaign with every sale that you make. In exchange, you can also ask them for help. These could be in the form of recommendations for what kind of candles to sell.  They would know which are best sellers and why. They can also help you with the brochure. They might even have a copy of brochure which you can use to print your own. They can also give you graphics and images which you can use in printing your own brochures.

  1. Motivate your group to be a winning sales force

Selling, whether with a table of candles in a supermarket, or with a brochure door-to-door is a tedious task. It is not a task which everyone can do. Even your best team me3mber sales personnel will have off days when the temptation to leave would be very real. This is where the role of a manager and team leader becomes very important. Besides managing the team, and setting up the sales process and organization, the team leader also has to motivate the team. Sales do not come as a steady stream of business. What happens is that the sales stream comes in spurts and stops. There are days when everyone wants to sell, and there are days when the team would want to stop.  Getting the team motivated means that they should be able to work their best every single day of the fundraising. The team members may not be able to sell everyday, but they would be able to go out and give their best at any given day.

  1. Focus on 100% participation

As mentioned earlier, not every one on a team can sell. However, everyone within the organization has to try to sell. Related to a motivated team, when everyone is trying to put in the same efforts at selling, there is going to be less dissension. Members would understand that this is for the good of the team. There are several ways to ensure 100% participation. One of these is to pair up the members. Pairs would be able to motivate one another, as well as help each other out.
