To Gift, or to Re-Gift

| August 21, 2014

It’s a dilemma I’m sure a lot of people have faced (go on, own up) and it’s one that can be a sticky situation to navigate. You wake up one day, you go about life, go to work, chat with colleagues, go to lunch, on the way you bump into a friend, you chat for a bit and they say ‘I have to go, we can catch up tonight.’ You’re then left wondering what’s happening tonight. You wrack your brain, but nothing’s coming. What’s happening? You dwell on it all day until you get home and you realise: ‘you’re friend from university’s birthday party’. You’re stuck. You have no time for a present, what to do, what to do? Do you throw a 20 into a card and say ‘I thought it would be better so you can get something you really want.’ Pathetic. The option is to grab some hardly used item of your shelf, hastily wrap it and act like you spent hours picking the right thing from the shop.

Now this is the dilemma of a re-gifter. If you need help with your cheap ways, take a look at this infographic. It has all the information you could possibly want. The rules you must follow to ensure you are never caught.

Oh, and by the way – he got you that gift for your birthday last year… busted.
